Eddie J. Ward

Mr. Ward founded E.J. Ward, Inc. in 1974 as the first automated fuel management company and since then has been instrumental in leading Ward to become the leading fleet fuel management company in North America. After graduating from Texas A & M University, Mr. Ward joined the United States Air Force as a pilot. Before founding Ward, he worked for Johnson Controls in San Antonio and then as branch manager in El Paso, Texas. Mr. Ward also founded an air conditioning and heating maintenance company for commercial buildings and a controls division for new construction in the commercial sector.

Tom Ward
CFO And Director

After graduation from the University of Texas, Mr. Ward served as an officer in the United States Army. Before joining Ward in 1980, he was President of the American Bank of Commerce in Victoria, Texas. Mr. Ward has been critical in refining the accounting systems and processes and keeping the company’s finances in order.

Markay Ward
President And CEO

Since 1989, Markay has provided Ward with critical leadership in several strategic Ward business areas including software development, contracts, customer service and training. She has been instrumental in developing numerous internal initiatives which have directly contributed to Ward’s growth. After graduating from the University of Texas in Austin, Markay worked with several companies in human resources, accounting and inside sales.

Robert Kettyle
Executive Vice President

Bob has been with Ward since 2007 and developed our innovative go-to-market strategies and successfully moving Ward to a full service technical solution provider. Prior to Ward,  he held leadership positions in technology companies such as Siemens, Enron, and Daniel Flow Products. He has been a guest instructor at The Appalachian Gas Measurement School, presenting papers on Automated Metering Systems, Hydrocarbon Flow Computers, Measurement System Integration Philosophy. Bob attended Mohawk Valley Community College, CCAF, Middlesex County College, Rutgers, and Kean College in New Jersey.


Richard Gower
Vice President, Technology

Richard joined Ward in 2016 and oversees the IT department and the Software Development team responsible for Ward’s fuel management software. He has been involved with application development since starting with British Rail in 1984, and has worked in the transportation industry with such companies as British Rail, Continental Airlines, EDS/HP, RailAmerica, Genesee and Wyoming, and Wabtec. Prior to joining Ward, Richard earned his PMP and worked at Catapult Systems as a Project Manager.

Kirk Prisock
Director, Engineering

Kirk has been with Ward since 2013 and oversees the Engineering Department, which consists of Electrical, Mechanical, and Firmware Engineering disciplines. He has over 35 years of experience as a Firmware Engineer in the Defense and Home Automation industries and is a member the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), with memberships in the IEEE Communications Society and the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society. Kirk received his Bachelor of Science in Math from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University).


Mike Wade
Director of Sales and Marketing

Mike was instrumental in leading Ward’s marketing, branding, and business development activities when he joined Ward in 2007 as Director of Marketing. He has extensive Fortune 500 sales, marketing, and business development experience in delivering triple-digit profit & revenue returns. His global acumen includes the appointment as the first European Marketing Manager for a global Fortune 200 conglomerate, and has been a featured blogger for the Automotive Fleet/Government Fleet since 2010, and has presented on GPS and Fuel Management technologies at local, state, and national conferences. Mike is involved in numerous community activities including the United Way, March of Dimes, San Antonio Sports, and the Valero Open. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Art in Business Economics and a Master of Business Administration.

Don Melochick
NorthEast Regional Sales Manager

Don has been with Ward since 2011 and his prior experience includes owning and operating a successful security company for 11 years, with 145 employees. He has also worked for an engineering company based in Germany, where he handled distributor sales in North America, South America and India. He has been a member of “Who’s Who in Small Business” and recipient of the Small Business of the Year in 2003 from the Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce. Don attended UMBC in Baltimore Maryland and Anne Arundel Community College.

Everette Atkinson
SouthEast Regional Sales Manager

Everette has been in the Fuel Management industry working as a Technical Upgrade Sales Consultant since 2012. He pioneered his department with marketing and business development strategies for delivering high profit and revenue returns. He has extensive experience working closely with distributors, end-users and Regional Sales managers to enhance all aspects of the customers’ fuel management process. He has significant knowledge with fuel automation, mobile applications, software enhancements, credit card applications, and wireless network infrastructure. He is a proud supporter of the UnitedWay, and the Wounded Warrior Project. Born and raised in Tallahassee Florida, Everette has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, with a focus in Professional Selling from Florida State University.

Danny Brashear, CEM
Midwest Regional Sales Manager

Danny brings to Ward over 30-years’ of experience working in the Fleet Management industry. He spent the past 12-years with a leading fleet asset solutions company as a Senior Fleet Consultant, working with customers across the County to best utilize their fleet management program. Before this, Danny spent 18-years working with Lee County Fleet Management in South Florida, where he worked his way up from Technician to Fleet Operations Manager. He managed all shop operations, equipment acquisitions and disposal, specifications writing, and fuel management. He served as the Fleet Trainer and Safety Coordinator, System Administrator, and performed many other duties for Lee County Fleet. During this time, Danny helped the County become the nation’s #1 ranked fleet in 2004 by Utility Fleet Management Magazine and Fleet Counselor Services, Inc. Danny earned his Certified Equipment Manager Certification from AEMP.

Regional Account Manager

Tony has over 30 years in the electronics industry and prides himself on building lasting customer relations. He supports his clients by listening to their needs and providing solutions to maximize return on their investment of the premiere Fuel Management System. Tony currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in business and lives in beautiful Southern California with his wife and two kids.  When he is not helping his clients he can be found taking long rides on his bike, or out on the links.

Justin Walker
Manager of Distribution Solutions

Justin oversees installation processes which include project implementation, deploying systems, project scheduling, and project management. He is originally from San Antonio, Texas and graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelors in Construction Management.

Leslie Patterson
Inside Sales And Account Manager

Leslie has served in various customer related capacities at Ward for more than 15 years.  In her current role, she provides daily oversight and support of the Inside Sales Team.  Leslie truly enjoys cultivating customer relationships and welcoming customers to the Ward team.  Prior to Ward, she held similar positions in other industries and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Lynn Larko
Manager Implementation

Lynn joined Ward in 2017 and oversees the Project Management and Software Implementation teams. She has previously held IT Operations Management, Project Management, and Process Engineering roles, most recently with Computer Sciences Corporation/DXC Technology.

Julius Siojo
Sr. Implementation Specialist

Julius has been with Ward since 1997 and has an extensive background in computer science and computer engineering. He has been a part of Ward’s software evolution since the beginning of his tenure, and has lead the development team responsible for Ward’s Fuel View software, as well as the software that runs Ward Fuel Control Terminals, CANceivers and mobile devices. Julius graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Anthony Lopez
Western Regional Service Manager

Anthony oversees ongoing employee and customer training, as well as facilitating the installation, maintenance, and repair of Ward Fuel Control Terminals and Vehicle Equipment. His electrical skills include terminating control and communication wiring, diagnosing electronic components, following wiring schematics, replacing PCB’s and maintaining a consistent preventive maintenance schedule. His network programming experience includes Wi-Fi, network interface cards, and RF radios. He also processes detailed Service Call Reports and interacts with customers and their management teams on a daily basis. Just a few of the fleets he services include the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Metropolitan Water District, and Sempra utilities.

Peter Taczli
Northeastern Regional Service Manager

Peter has been with Ward since 2000 and he brings 20 years of Sales, Installation and Service management to the Ward Operations team. Peter works closely with Customer Support, Project Management, and the Implementation Support Service team. He has an extensive background in the Fleet & Fuel Management Industry and with an engineering back- ground in manufacturing. Peter attended the University of Bridgeport and has several certifications in engineering and sales.

Christopher ‘Kip’ Smith
Director Of Supply Chain

The newest addition to the Ward team, Kip comes to us with 30 years of professional experience spanning defense, manufacturing, product development, business process consulting, program/project management, and most recently as Senior Project Manager with General Motors in Austin, Texas. Kip oversees all inventory, logistics and supply chain activities for our existing product lines and our new product development and introduction. He earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM.

Allison Cambell
Accounting and Human Resources

Allison’s current realm of responsibility includes Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources, and various related fields. Her 20 plus years of experience enables her to offer support to many departments within the company. Allison previously worked as a Controller for a corporation in Austin before moving to San Antonio from Elgin, Texas two years ago. She is a large supporter of community service activities and is still active with Rodeo Austin, where she has volunteered hundreds of hours over the last 14 years, as well as volunteering for Friends of Hospice San Antonio.
